Singer, Davido and public commentator, Kayode Ogundamisi have been embroiled in a war of words on Twitter over the video showing the arrest of two ladies, Susan and Helen, who had last week claimed that Davido had got one of them pregnant.
Reacting to the video of the arrest of the ladies, Ogundamisi had on Tuesday tweeted, “Imagine @iam_Davido as first Cousin in @StateofOsun with his Uncle @IsiakaAdeleke1 as Governor. And @MBuhari is meant to be the tyrant o!”
In response, Davido bashed Ogundamisi and asked him to keep his family’s name out of his lips. Davido quoted Ogundamisi’s tweet and wrote, “It pains you that someone half your age that you can give birth to is greater than you. Now keep my family name out (of) your mouth! Your whole life earnings no reach 30 per cent of my show money and it hurts I know.”
In the video, the two ladies were seen handcuffed to each other and trying to hide their faces, even as Davido’s hypeman, Spesh, threatened to slap one of them and also listed the allegations against the ladies.
The Lagos police on Tuesday had condemned the ‘parade’ of the ladies, saying it was wrong for a citizen to parade a fellow citizen. He added that the ladies could sue Davido and Spesh over the ‘parade.’
It would be recalled that in 2018, Davido’s uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke had contested for the office of the governor of Osun State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. He lost to Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress.

The Acting Director-General, National Pension Commission (PenCom), Mrs Aisha Dahir-Umar, has said that the commission cannot loan the Federal Government from the accrued Pension Fund Assets to fund investment, infrastructure or national projects.
The PenCom boss, who was speaking at the 2019 NLC National Leadership Retreat in Enugu hinted that the commission has no money to lend any state, even as she disclosed that the Pension Fund Assets had grown to N9.44 trillion.
There have been reports and speculations that the Federal Government wants to borrow from the Pension Fund Assets for investment, and fund some projects as well as put in place some notable infrastructures, while the commission was also said to have promised to loan Ebonyi State Government part of the fund.
Labour, especially the NLC has consistently kicked against the plan in the last two years, and when the opportunity was provided during the NLC leadership retreat in Enugu, the Labour leaders sought clarification from PenCom.
However, the acting director-general, who was represented by the Head, Internal Audit Department, PenCom, Mr Peter Ekwealor, stated that the commission has no such capacity, adding that the commission has no right to give the money to anybody as it was not even with them.
Responding to the question on both Federal Government and Ebonyi State borrowing from the Pension Fund Asset, she said: “I am not aware of that, that the Federal Government is trying to borrow money from PenCom. PenCom does not have that kind capacity, we don’t have the right to give money to anybody. If you understand how the whole thing works, you know that the money is not even with PenCom in the first place. Also, we didn’t promise Ebonyi State Government any loan.”
In her presentation, the acting director-general said the Pension Fund Assets had grown to N9.44 trillion, adding that the numbers of contributors have also grown to 8.79 million with high growth potentials for the scheme.
Giving the update on the implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), she said: “It is appropriate to provide implementation updates at all engagements with organized Labour. The modest milestones of the CPS should instil confidence that the Pension Reform remains steadily on course despite some passing challenges. As at August 2019, the number of pension contributors that is membership of the Retirement Savings Account (RSA) Fund has grown to 8.79 million. There are high growth potentials for the CPS with more registrations expected from the states as well as the private and informal sectors.
“With the launching of the Micro Pension Plan in the first quarter of 2019, it is expected that the plan will serve as a major driver of expanding coverage of the CPS in Nigeria. Furthermore, Pension Fund Assets had grown to N9.44 trillion over the same period. It should be noted that Pension Asset growth is made up of monthly pension contributions for the RSA Funds and funds injected by scheme sponsors in the case of Closed Pension Fund Administrators (CPFAs) and Approved Existing Schemes (AESs) as well as income generated from investment.”
She added: “On benefits administration, a total of 297,019 retirees are receiving pension under the CPS as at 31 August, 2019. About 226,350 retirees who are receiving pension under the programmed withdrawal were paid the sum of N586.25 billion as lump sum and N9.64 billion as monthly programmed withdrawals.More in Home
“Whereas, about 70,669 retirees on Annuity were paid N93.79 billion as lump sum; N382.63 billion was paid to the Insurance companies as premium for the Retiree Life Annuity with a monthly pension of N3.82 billion. In addition, N183.79 billion was paid as death benefits to the beneficiaries of 58,434 deceased contributors.”
The PenCom acting director-general said compliance by states was one of the strategic initiatives towards expanding coverage of the CPS, adding that as at August this year, 25 states of the Federation including the FCT had enacted laws on the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS); six states were at the bill stage; while five states had embarked on pension reform other than the CPS.
Accordingly, she pointed out that the Commission had adopted different strategies in promoting CPS in States and also enhances their capacities in ensuring compliance.
These strategies, according to her, include direct engagement of stakeholders at all levels, provision of technical support and the conduct of sensitization and enlightenment workshops for state government officials, labour unions and employees, amongst others.
In addition, she stated that the Commission’s Regulation on Investment of Pension Fund Assets has made non-compliant States ineligible for access to pension funds in any development bonds they may issue.
Slain terrorist Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s whereabouts were revealed to the American forces by one of his numerous wives, it has since emerged.
The New York Daily Report revealed on Tuesday that one of Al-Baghdadi’s wives released the whereabouts of the slain terrorist leader. The woman was arrested in Iraq last week along with a man who was a courier for the extremist Muslim organization.
According to the US tabloid, the wife said that her husband was in the northern Syrian village of Barisha. The US newspaper did not mention either the name of the informant.
Islam allows Muslims to have up to four marriages simultaneously and an unlimited number of concubines. Al Baghdadi was no exception on the culture.
He was killed in Syria by US troops.
Meanwhile, Newsweek magazine reported that the leadership of the terrorist group was taken over by Iraqi Turk Abdullah Kardash, whose name is sometimes spelt Karshesh and is also known as Hadji Abdullah al-Afari.
According to recent reports, al-Baghdadi’s remains were transported to a US base in Iraq. Probably the dust of the slain ISIS boss will be scattered in the sea.
There is a new crop of political masterminds who, having read the 49 laws of power, are putting it to maximum effect with Senator I.D.Gyang as their target of experimentation.
As is typical with ventures born out of desperation, the chief mastermind has adopted the strategy of de-marketing Senator I.D.Gyang thinking that by so doing, he will gain political leverage.
This same fellow not long ago suffered a shocking self inflicted blow that left him hanging and stranded when he outplayed himself into a political culdesac.
Having not learn a lesson from the futility of being mischievous, he is now resorting to the very crude and devilish tactics of attacking the person of Senator I.D.Gyang.
An aspect of his subterfuge that is so appalling is the insensitivity displayed in turning the persecution and trial which our father the former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Jonah Jang is being subjected to by the EFCC into political capital. What a shame! The sudden pliability and good boy posturing of the main mastermind is not only laughable and hypocritical but a sugar coated bitter pill.
Craftiness and mischief are his trade marks and that is a fact that is public knowledge.
We are serving him and his likes notice that the de-marketing strategy deployed against Senator I.D.Gyang is not only a failed project but one that is dead on arrival.
Reasonable people know that you don’t need to run anyone down as a means of attaining an ambition. After all, it is in the hand of God to make great. To people of faith, the race is not to the smart not the swift, least of all the crafty, neither is the battle to the strong but is of the Lord, that shows mercy! Let it be known that anyone daring Senator I.D.Gyang has God to contend with. A word is enough to the wise!
BEING A PRESS STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT OF BENUE YOUTH FORUM, BYF, COMRADE TERRENCE KUANUM OVER UNDEMOCRATIC UTTERANCES AND ORGANIZED BLACKMAIL OF THE JUDICIARY BY SOME GROUPS Gentlemen of the press, you may recall that we had cautioned political parties and some politicians who see the game of politics as a do-or-die affair to allow the judges sitting on cases before the Tribunals and Court of Appeal to determine the cases without undue pressure from any quarter. We made that important statement in support of our judiciary so that the true reflection of the mandate of the Benue people in the 2019 elections could be ascertained. But the recent outings by some political elements particularly those in All Progressives Congress, APC in Benue State have given us youths of the State cause for worry and serious concern. We have noticed that such elements are using blackmail to have Court of Appeal judges to play to their whims in their judgments. We had expected APC leaders and members to react the same way Peoples Democratic Party, PDP reacted when tribunal judgments were given against the party in Gboko West state constituency, Katsina-Ala West Constituency and Obi State Constituency. We have observed that PDP has continued to demonstrate willingness to comply with those judgments and leaders of the party have called on their members and the candidates to show respect to the judiciary by obeying the court verdicts. APC leaders and members on the contrary have been threatening fire and brimstone and have begun to play the extreme card of blackmail against the judges. This is anti-democratic and totally unacceptable. Resorting to the use of faceless groups with no history of the struggle for the common man is tantamount to the very ideals of democratic culture and the values our dear state Benue represents. Those fanning embers of discord and playing drums of war simply because their party lost in the last elections and its fortunes at the courts look gloomy should know that Benue is bigger than any individual or group. We would vehemently resist any attempt by enemies of Benue from within and outside the State to plunge it into avoidable political crisis of any kind. Benue belongs to all of us and no one has proprietary ownership of the State to act as if it is their birthright to hold the people to ransom. As the umbrella body of Benue youths, we have been in the trenches for years defending our people from aggressors, and our commitment to supporting security agencies to protect our people remains unwavering. We call on security operatives to identify and apprehend merchants of crisis who have vowed to make Benue State ungovernable as long as they are out of power. Such persons and their sponsors, no matter the positions they occupy in society must be brought to justice. We urge His Excellency Governor Samuel Ortom to whom we gave our popular mandate to remain focused and not be distracted by antics of some disgruntled opposition politicians. Majority of Benue people are behind him. We equally encourage Appeal Court Judges not to feel intimidated over undemocratic utterances of political mercenaries. In every society, there exist bad eggs and Benue is not an exception. Those blackmailing the judiciary do not represent the general opinion of Benue people. They speak for themselves and their financiers. In conclusion, we call on all lovers of democracy to beam a search light on Benue to stop the coup being plotted against democracy in the State. Elements of disunity and violence have no place in democratic parlance. Thank you. Kuanum Terrence President Benue youth Forum.
