A man of timber and caliber… Anytime I come across such a description (timber and caliber), you are the person that comes to my mind. I remember, my first encounter with the phrase was in 2002 or 2003. I was walking down home from Dengi central market when I noticed your poster contesting for the PRO of Kanam Students Association (KANSA) pasted on an electric pole in front of the house of late Dahiru Gapshan, on it was that inscription “man of timber and caliber”.
I was surprised, how can one who is contesting for an election described himself as a timber? Lol; which me then just know of its literal meaning as a wood. My father eulogising how smart and intelligent you are, and him wishing that you won the election made me to develop an extra interest in that position (PRO) aside the presidential contest.
During the manifestoes presentation at GidGid lodge, you swept not only me from my feet but almost all that were there. Your eloquence, energy and display of raw passion was at a peak. That night you announced your presence in the circle of worthy men…. In that election, a dogged, dedicated and intelligent personality was birthed in the political turf of Kanam.
You had never looked back since then! I’m glad that we have been in the same political boat since then.
Coming from the most humble of beginning, you refused to be weigh down by life challenges, instead, you continue to navigate through hurdles, breaking shackles while marching forward . In the space of twenty years, you had transmute from someone who was squatting at guardsman room at the gate of FCE Pankshin because you couldn’t afford to rent a room to now the chairman, House of Representative Committee on Navy…. Through God’s grace and your sheer determination, commitment, focus, doggedness and enterprising acumen.
As you always say, your life is a message!
You are a person that gave his all to what you believe in. Honorably resigning from the state civil service to pursue a career in politics Haven’t not spend more than 5 years in the employ of the government and not financially grounded (what a risky venture for a young man in this our generation)…. But that is how strong willed an individual You are . Your power of believe and determination is unparalleled.
You hardly come in contact with someone without touching and changing his life. You personified loyalty and commitment. Which you exemplified in your association with the late gentleman Usman Zumunta Musa.
Before reaching 40, you were once an aspirant for the post of House of Assembly which you lost, onetime state financial secretary PDP, a former member lower Benue River Basin Development Authority, a onetime House of Assembly member and a Deputy Speaker Plateau State House of Assembly and now a member House of Representative and chairman house committee on Navy.
Before cloaking 40, you are a traditional title holder, the Danmalikin kanam and Dan Majen Jahr.
Before stepping into the wise age of 40, you are already a PhD student of Nasarawa State University keffi starting your higher education from NCE and without even a means to pay for your tuition fees… Your life is indeed a message.
In your 40 years sojourn on earth you had tremendously touched the lives of many people. As a member of the house of Assembly, he paid for SSCE registration for all the Government secondary schools in his constituency that are writing the exams.
The many families he touched with employment and empowerment since when he was a low level staff at the office of the head of service of Plateau State to when he became a politician and legislator are quite numerous.
He has been and is still sponsoring many people through different levels of education.
“I know what it means to lack something”
Such words are always on his lips and is what is propelling him to be too generous, in many instances going out of his comfort to do such.
I learned and still learning alot being close with you. Empathy, humility, generosity, the zeal for more knowledge and the total reliance on God for anything, which your political slogan IN GOD WE TRUST typifies . I’m glad that you are my mentor.
You clock 40 a day after when the court of appeal reaffirmed you as the true representative of the people of PKK at the National Assembly, a great endorsement of your people centered and progressive politicking devoid of promotion of sentimental biases. It is exciting that the whole nation will tend to benefit from your intellection, can-do spirit and the love for ameliorating the plights of the people.
You are an inspiration, an enigma and a rising phenomenon on the Plateau… A source of positive reference for the youths.

The newly sworn chairman of langtang north local government Hon Joshua Ubandoma laven was today issued a certificate of return by the chairman of the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission Mr Fabian Ari Ntung.
While issueing the certificate of return, Mr Ntung urged the chairman to use his new position to provide quality leadership & development to the people of langtang north local government.
Receiving the certificate, Hon Ubandoma thanked God for the victory at the election appeal tribunal. He said, ” this is a position of trust, I contested for chairman to make a positive difference in the life of Langtang North who have reposed so much confidence in me by coming out in their numbers to vote for me.
The Hon chairman further used the opportunity to thank the governor of plateau state his excellency Barr Simon Bako Lalong for obeying the ruling of the appeal tribunal which returned him elected & ordered for his immediate swearing-in.

Congratulatory and birthday messages to Rt Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi.
On behalf of myself and my family, I celebrate with Rt Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, the member representing Pankshin Kanke Kanam in the Federal House of Assembly, on his confirmation as the duly elected Representative of PKK in the National Assembly by the Court of Appeal.
The Appeal Court ruling is a confirmation of both perfect will of God and of the irrefutable choice of Pankshin Kanke Kanam people. It also reinforces the confidence our people have in the judiciary. This is a good development for the advancement of democracy in our State and Nigeria at large as it goes a long way to pattern true democracy for our nation.
It is time for people of Pankshin Kanke Kanam from all political parties and all ethnic groups to rise up and support our dear leader.
Let us all rise to the faith of greatness.

Senator George Sekibo congratulated Rt. Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi on his victory at the Appeal tribunal, Sekibo who is the Senate Committee Chairman on Navy said he is the most happiest person cause he enjoyed a cordial working relationship with Gagdi.
Sekibo prayed God to protect Gagdi as he is young, vibrant and articulated. Gagdi while responding, said he is overwhelm with the show of love by his senior colleague, he thank him for believing in him and prayed God to guide him.
APPEAL TRIBUNAL JUDGMENT: MY SINCERE APPRECIATIONS!
Like OUR electioneering slogan implies, IN GOD WE TRUST for OUR electoral victory and the daunting task of representing the good people of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam federal constituency in the House of Representatives. OUR trust in God has been unwavering, and to Him alone WE ascribe all honour, glory and adoration for the victories recorded from OUR party primary, to the house of representatives election, to the affirmation of OUR mandate by the trial tribunal and the reaffirmation of same by the Court of Appeal Tribunal today.
But for God, WE could not have surmounted the evil machinations of OUR political detractors to this point. My sincerest appreciation goes to OUR teaming supporters for keeping faith with me, despite the name calling. You remained steadfast in your beliefs that my candidacy is the best for PKK, and you never looked back nor succumbed to sentiments as the basis of your support. The successes recorded so far could not have been possible without your unflinching support; WE remain indebted to you.
The judiciary has remained the bastion of justice and the last hope of the common man. I had cause to approach the tribunal as a petitioner in the past, and was not successful, but I never doubted their fairness in dealing with matters before them based on their merits and weight of evidence presented by the parties. Today, WE are victorious and OUR believe in the judiciary is as strong as ever before. Even if the outcome of this appeal was not in my favor, I would still hold same confidence in the judiciary and accept the outcome as the justice of the matter. I thank the judiciary for reaffirming my mandate, and putting paid to the senile opinion in some quarters that I am holding unto a ‘stolen mandate’.
The same PDP who had caused the delay in the submission of the result of Kanam LGA by scrutinizing the result of ALL the polling units at the LGA collation centre in Kanam, after same had been verified at the various Ward collation centers as the law stipulates, now want to turn around and benefit from the delay as a reason to suggest the election was delayed in Kanam in order to rig the election in my favour. God has put them to shame, and His name alone shall be exalted.
Let me use this medium to categorically rebuke my rival and predecessor, Hon. Timothy GOLU, for displaying desperation and lack of sportsmanship while the litigation lasted. Only a desperado will outrightly reject the handshake of a political rival the way GOLU rejected my handshake at the lower tribunal. I am not expecting him to congratulate me now that his appeal failed, neither will I accept such a show of shame now that he has exhausted all the legal avenues to fight me and cause the distractions he has caused me in the discharge of my responsibility as the representative of PKK. I voted for GOLU twice in 2015, at the PDP house of representatives primary and the main election, and God used me to contribute immensely to Golu’s victory, both at the primary election of our former party and the main election. I can say with all modesty that no single individual contributed to Golu’s victory in 2015 than my humble self, and I never held any grudge against GOLU, because we were chosen by our different parties to contest for the same position; but I was bewildered how he took the whole contest as a do or die affair. I had always declared publicly and in my solemn moment that God should grant victory to any candidate that has the best interest of PKK, and who can perform better. I was not desperate about winning the election and have NEVER planned to rig the election nor did I rig the election in fact.
We have achieved remarkably well even with the distractions, but I am sure we would have achieved even more if the resources expended in this litigation were channeled for the empowerment of our constituents. Nevertheless, I shall redouble my efforts to ensure we make up for the time lost and distractions occasioned by the litigation.
Now that the coast is crystal clear that I shall remain the representative of PKK till 2023, I can assure my constituents to expect more of human development and the provision of people oriented constituency development projects.
My absence in court today was due to urgent national duty of harmonizing the 2020 budget of the Nigerian Navy between the committees of the Senate and that of the House of Representatives before submitting same to the appropriation committee. However, I shall be in Jos for my birthday celebration tomorrow, which I intend to celebrate with the orphans in some of the orphanage homes in Jos.
Long Live PKK Long live Plateau state, and Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Plateau State Commissioner Ministry for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dayyabu Garga has said Plateau State is being placed at a strategic position for monumental development by the Lalong Administration in this second phase.
He was speaking to newsmen after a five days Plateau State Government Policy Retreat which took place for Commissioners,Permanent Secretaries and some strategic Government officials at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru in Plateau State.
According to Garga, the Policy Retreat with theme as, NEW IMPERATIVES FOR SUSTAINING THE RESCUE AGENDA TO THE NEXT LEVEL clearly defined for them best ways to consolidate and improve on the successes of the first four years of the Lalong Administration.
The Hon Commissioner Ministry for Physical Planning and Urban Development,Dayyabu Garga described Governor Lalong as a leader who sees the prospects that are ahead of a state in dire need to rescue itself from present day challenges through formulation of policies and programmes that will change the narratives for a more prosperous plateau.
Monitoring and evaluation of short and medium term templates put in place at the retreat in the words of Garga will serve as a springboard which will drive other key sectors to build the state’s economy and in return bring development to the people.
Asked on how it will impact on the Ministry for Physical Planning and Urban Development, the Commissioner said Governor Lalong was deliberate to have made PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT one of the Three (3) Point Policy Thrust 2019-2023 of the second phase of his administration pointing out that the Governor has said he will within limited resources touch on critical facilities that will uplift the living standard of the citizenry and the Ministry will be the vehicle for such.
Dayyabu Garga said he has met a Management and staff of the Ministry for Physical Planning and Urban Development who are ready to offer their services for the state with all sense of responsibility saying already identification of certain areas that need immediate attention has begun.
He called for continued support and prayer for the administration of Governor Simon Lalong to live up to the expectations of the people assuring that the Governor remains committed to doing that which is only right.
