Ayuba Burki Gufwan Mourns Senator Longjan’s Death.

CEO of Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Center, Jos, Chief Ayuba Burki Gufwan, has commiserated with the family of late Senator Ignatius Longjan on the death of the All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain who represents Plateau South Senatorial district in the National Assembly.

Chief Burki who described the late Senator as a decent and humble politician, said his death was a huge loss not only to his family but the country at large as he left at a time when his wise counsel and guidance is most needed.

Chief Burki in a condolence message to the family, urged them to be consoled by the fact that the late politician lived a worthy, exemplary life and gave a good account of himself as a career diplomat, and politician and in the process earning the rare sobriquet of ‘Loyal Deputy’.

While commiserating with the immediate family, Quan Pan LGA, Plateau South Senatorial zone, the people and government of Plateau State, Burki prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and asked God Almighty to grant his family, friends and associates the fortitude to overcome the irreparable loss.

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Plateau State, Hon Letep Dabang says the demise of Senator Representing Plateau South in the National Assembly and Former Deputy Governor Of Plateau State,Ignatius Longjan has brought pains to the All Progressive Congress,State,and Country at large.

In a statement in Jos reacting to the death,he said the pain is not for the Longjan family alone as the Late Senator was a father to all irrespective of differences and also served as mentor to many who have continuously learnt from his wealth of experience in sincere service to his father land.

Letep Dabang described the Late Longjan as a reflection of a true father who’s hands remained open to all who came in contact with him which reflected while he was in office as a Deputy Governor and subsequently Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The APC Chairman added that the Late Longjan’s life is a typical example of the true Plateau man who is so accommodating and loving to all that is why his followership spans across political, religious and ethnic divides.

Letep Dabang enjoined Plateau people to accept the unfortunate incident as an act of God and continue to pray for the family for God’s strength upon them.

He said the APC family will miss Late Senator Longjan and prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.

It is with deep Shock and a heavy heart that I ALHAJI ldris SALIHU Kwando received news of the demise of Senator Ignatius Longjan.

Distinguished Senator Longjan live an exemplary life worthy of emulation.

Senator Longjan was a Diplomat,Chief of staff Government House to the then former Governor Plateau State Da Jonah David Jang and served as Deputy Governor under the same administration and was eventually called upon by the people of plateau south Senatorial District to represent them at the Red Chambers.

Senator Longjan will be remember for his humility, loyalty, fairness, love for family and humanity as a whole and above all love for God.

I equally commiserate with the Government and people of Plateau State and All Progressive Congress (APC) over the sad loss.The death of Senator Longjan has no doubt created a vacuum in so many heart and homes.

May God grant consolation to the immediate family, plateau state and indeed the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Governor Simon Bako Lalong felicitates with the Plateau State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief Letep Dabang on the occasion of his birthday.
Lalong’s message of congratulations describes the party Chairman Chief Letep as a political giant whose knowledge and dexterity has continued to propel the APC to more electoral victories particularly during the last general elections where APC won at various levels.
He said “the commitment and sacrifices of Chief Letep to the party and its members is commendable as he has ensured the growth and stability of the party in the State since it assumed power by defeating the PDP in 2015”.

The Federal Lawmaker described Late Sen. Longjan as a humble and easy going Elder statesman of great value, goodwill and integrity whose wealth of experience and fatherly role will be greatly missed not only in his Senatorial Zone, Plateau State but Nation at large.
He said his demise is a colossal and National Loss.
“His demise has created a national and fatherly vacuum” Dr. Mwadkwon said.
Dr. Simon Mwadkwon recall with admiration during their induction as Members of 9th National Assembly, how Late Sen. Longjan related and treated them wonderfully and fairly irrespective of party affiliations, a disposition that can best be described as fatherly and unifying. His demise is a big blow to those who had reason to come across him while alive.
Rep. Mwadkwon said Late Senator Longjan served Nigeria and Plateau State meritoriously and diligently. Baba Longjan has ran his earthly race successfully and reached the finish line.
While praying for the repose of his soul, Rep. Simon Mwadkwon prayed God to give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable and irreplaceable loss.
Late Sen. Ignatius Longjan was a career Diplomat who after retirement served Plateau State diligently from 2007 to 2015 as Chief of Staff and Deputy Governor where his immense contributions to the State and humanity were well felt.

Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has commended Mr. Simdul Shagaya, CEO uLesson Education Ltd located in Rayfield-Jos, for the innovative initiatives that he has brought to the technology sector of the Plateau State economy culminating in the recent attraction of an investment worth over N1.2billion Naira from TLcom Capital LLP, one of the biggest backers of technological start-ups in sub-Saharan Africa.
The Governor who sent a letter of commendation to Shagaya through the Secretary to the Government of the State, Prof. Danladi Abok Atu, expressed delight that this investment is an injection into ULesson which is his recent venture operating in Jos and designed to integrate mobile platforms, SD cards Country-Specific Curriculum and a network of tutors to bridge the educational gaps for secondary school students in Nigeria and Africa.
He noted that this will not only create additional employment opportunities in the State, but will make positive impact on the educational and technological growth of Plateau citizens.
The Governor is also excited that this new venture is coming shortly after Shagaya’s highly-acclaimed and successful start-up, Konga.Com which transformed the e-commerce sector in Nigeria, and makes him a true pride to Plateau State.
Lalong notes that his passion for innovation and thinking out of the box was the main reason why he was made a member of the State Economic Advisory Council.
The successful capital investment was also described as a reflection of the improvement in the business enabling environment of the Rescue Administration under Governor Simon Lalong.
The Governor hopes that as the State prepares to host an Economic and Investment Summit soon, other potential investors will leverage on this improved business environment to exploit the business opportunities in Plateau State.

PRESIDENT BUHARI CONDEMNS “COWARDLY AND MURDEROUS’’ ATTACKS BY BOKO HARAM IN MAIDUGURI

President Buhari commiserates with family of victims of attacks in Maiduguri, Borno State, assuring them that his administration will continually frustrate the devilish operations of Boko Haram, and bring it to an end.

President Buhari condemns the “murderous and cowardly attack on innocent passengers by the Boko Haram terrorists near Maiduguri’’, adding: “this administration is ever determined to frustrate their goal to hold Nigeria to ransom’’.

“The commitment of this administration to protect the lives of Nigerians will not be derailed by the cowardly and indiscriminate violence against innocent people by Boko Haram terrorists,’’ he said, while reacting to recent attacks in Maiduguri.

The President Buhari, who also condoled with the government of the state, warns “that terrorists are clearly on a back foot and their days are numbered’’.

“As our armed forces continue to receive more hardware and intelligence to counter our current security challenges, the remnants of Boko Haram will ultimately be crushed. The peculiar challenges of asymmetric warfare notwithstanding, our armed forces are ever determined to defeat these enemies of humanity,’’ President Buhari said.

Rep. Bagos mourns Sen Ignatius Longjan’s death

Member, representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abuja, Rep. Dachung Bagos has expressed sadness over the demise of Senator representing Plateau South senatorial zone in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria His Excellency Sen Ignatius D. Longhan. The sad event took place today, Monday 10th February, 2020 at a hospital in Turkey where he was receiving medical attention.

Until his demise, Sen. Ignatius Datong Longjan was a former deputy Governor of Plateau State and had served the state and country in various capacities faithfully. He was also a gubernatorial aspirant in the PDP for the 2015 general elections where he was admired by supporters who nicked named him, “the loyal deputy”.

Rep. Bagos in a statement while on condolence visit to the family, described him as a father, as a humble leader, and a committed Christian, stating that he and indeed the people of his constituency, are truly grieved by the departure of the Senator.

“Your legacies and exemplary leadership was a source of inspiration to the younger generation of leaders”.

“We’re consoled, as Christians, in the hope that we’d see you again in glory. Continue to rest at the blossom of our Lord Jesus Christ.” said the Member.

I am deeply saddened by the news of the demised of the former Deputy Governor and Distinguish Senator representing plateau south after a protracted illness.

The distinguish senator who is one of the strong APC chieftain in the state have always been a father to many, a mentor and also a role model. His enormous contributions as former deputy governor and as senator representing plateau south of plateau state cannot be overemphasized.

One of the distinguishing quality of the desist is his humility which is enviable, his display of wisdom in solving any problem tabled before him, loyalty to the plateau project and above all, a lover of peace on the Plateau.

On behalf of myself, my family and the good people of Dengi constituency we wish to extend our heartfelt condolence to the immediate family, people of southern senatorial zone and plateau state at large.

May his soul and that of other faithfuls departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
