The Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Navy, Rt Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi has assured that his committee will prioritize appropriation for the development of the percel of land donated to the Nigerian Navy for the establishment of a Foward Operating Base, so as to make the presence of the navy more prevalent in Bayelsa State to commensurate with its vast maritime resources.

Rt Hon. Gagdi made the remarks when he led a batch of 16-man member of his committee on a familiarization visit on the Bayelsa State governor, as part of activities scheduled for the committee’s oversight visit to the Central Naval Command Headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Gagdi maintains that the importance of Nigerian waterways to the nation’s economy is unprecedented, as such securing the maritime industry by ensuring operations of the navy is physically present in all its waterways cannot be toyed with.

Earlier speaking, Gagdi said the aim of the visit was in compliance with constitutional provisions that empower the legislature to exercise oversight functions over activities of the executive arm of government, and the best way to ensure resources allocated to various government organizations are judiciously expended, according to him, is by physically visiting areas of responsibilities of such organizations.

He thanked the governor for the warm welcome accorded the committee and assured that the coming years would be more beneficial to the nation’s economy through a more reinvigorated Nigerian Navy that is poist to discharge its duties optimally with its basic needs attended to. PRINCE SEKAT FELICITATE WITH REV. YAKUBU MIGOLA GOFUP RTD ON THE OCCASION OF HIS 77TH BIRTHDAY

HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂 TO AN ICON
As you celebrate your birthday today, I join millions of well wishers to wish you a happy birthday, long life and prosperity.

Sir, you are an angel on earth, your humility, self control, Godliness, hard working, truthfulness, discipline, resilience, confidence and above all, the fear of God makes me to come close to you and tap from your wealth of experience, your transparency and Openness, sincerity and refusal to deep your hand into what belongs to the church, makes your fellow colleagues to distance themselves from you, for they are unclean.
Your election to the post of Chairman, RCC Pankshin was cancelled two times and shifted to a later date just because they know you are an upright and a true man of God, at last you were elected to lead the church of God and the people, even though some of us threaten to invade the election ground and at the end, you proved to them that without Bsc in Theology you know God more than they do.

Sir, the COCIN you suffered to build then, is something else today, COCIN is now a political party not a church again, but these remind me of what you told me 20 years ago and what happened to you during your election as Chairman, RCC Pankshin, many Reverends who want to emulate and carry on with your kind of work in the church are transferred to remote villages where there is no network, telling the truth in COCIN today is a taboo, Daddy, in COCIN today you can’t differentiate between a Rev/Pastor, elders and leaders again.

Baba, you are truly a man of God and a mentor, teacher, disciplinarian to many of us, you are a God fearing man, transparent and Openness, diligent and prudent.

As you celebrate your birthday on this special day, I on behalf of my family wish you long life and prosperity.

Prince Rotdunna Sekat

BREAKING NEWS:APPEAL COURT FAILS TO HEAR OSHIOMHOLE’S APPEAL

The Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has called off the hearing in the appeal by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole on his suspension by the Federal High Court.

The Appeal Court had, last week sent notices of hearing to parties in the appeal but when parties got to court on Monday the Justice Stephen Adah-led three-man panel of Justices sat to hear other cases.

When the panel rose later, it promised that another panel will be reconstituted to hear the APC National Chairman’s appeal.

Parties were, however, taken aback when a female official of the court announced to a packed courtroom that the court has elected to hear Oshiomole’s appeal on a later date to be communicated to parties later rather than having a new panel

The former Edo State Governor, who arrived early at the court, is currently meeting with his team of lawyers on what next steps to take.

2023 AMBITION DESTROYING APC LIKE CORONAVIRUS, SAYS TINUBU

All Progressives Congress stalwart, Bola Tinubu, says the Presidential ambition of some top politicians in the APC is destroying the party like the coronavirus pandemic.

Tinubu said in a statement on Sunday that it was unfortunate that these individuals had in their desperation for power orchestrated the suspension of the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole.

He said, “While coronavirus has been presently contained in Nigeria, we must be alert to another sickness that seems rampant within a certain segment of society. That sickness is old Ambition-virus 2023. This illness afflicts many in the political class along with their allies in the media.

“Those touched by this malady find that their ability to tell time and discern the difference between the present and the future has been strongly impaired. The carriers of this sickness are confused as to the very season our nation now finds itself.

“They conflate things, which no sensible person would conflate. The primary symptom of their malady is the driving tendency to believe the events of 2023 will be decided before we even exit the year 2020.”

The former governor of Lagos State said, unfortunately, the biggest casualty in the struggle for 2023 was the President, Maj.Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

Tinubu, who is rumoured to be nursing a presidential ambition, said Buhari, who is currently tackling the nation’s many maladies, ought to be supported by the APC and not distracted.

He said, “In a broader context, those afflicted with the 2023 virus do a grave disservice to President Buhari and his administration. They should be trying their best to help the President. Instead of seeing President Buhari as our present leader and commander-in-chief, their sole contemplation is upon his eventual exit.

“Yet, not even a full year has passed since his second inaugural. How can they be committed to helping him realise his mandate when the fullness of their gaze is affixed to seizing this very mandate for themselves?”
